SportBuns is a sports social platform that helps you find pickup games, match with partners at your level, and grow local communities — without juggling WhatsApp groups and scattered Facebook posts.
Our mission
We believe showing up to play should be simple. SportBuns reduces friction between athletes who want the same thing: a reliable game, the right skill level, and people who actually show up. Our mission is to build the social infrastructure for the next generation of athletes — starting in your neighborhood.
Who we are
SportBuns is founded and operated by Valeriia Chernova, an independent developer based in Canada. The product is built with direct input from players who host padel sessions, running groups, and pickup basketball every week.
We ship on iOS and Android, with a web experience at sportbuns.app so games and communities are discoverable beyond the app stores.
What SportBuns does
- Discover games — browse open pickup games on a map or list, filter by sport, and join in one tap.
- Find partners — match with athletes by sport, skill, availability, and location.
- Build communities — clubs and recurring groups for padel, tennis, running, and more.
- Chat in-app — coordinate details without sharing personal phone numbers until you choose to.
- Reliability signals — activity and community participation help surface dependable players (not a guarantee — always use your judgment).
Trust & safety
Athlete safety is a shared responsibility. SportBuns provides reporting, blocking, profile privacy controls, and moderation review. We encourage meeting at public venues, telling someone your plans, and reporting issues promptly.

Transparency
SportBuns is free to join. We do not sell your personal data. If a game has an entry fee, the price is shown before you join. We use established infrastructure providers (including Clerk for authentication and Supabase for data) and publish clear policies on this site.
